Anyone know a good puzzle game?

I'm thinking of getting my mum a puzzle game for her new PC. She likes slidey picture type things and ones where you have to work things out, but I can't seem to find anything. Does anyone know a good, addictive, thought-provoking puzzle game for PC that I can buy?

I'm working on a chat room for the server... might be up tommorrow but it's multi player adventure chat.......

commands include...
look
go
say - talk to people in same room
shout - talk to everyone
get
drop
.........etc

ie go north door
shout help Im stuck

Thanks for the help everyone. Weirdly, that spele game is like Rush Hour which was discussed here a few months back. Everything goes in circles.
