ok....
first race is a handicap race. The second race is not handicapped.
For the handicap as last time, turbo through the pits on the right according to the handicap you take. for a handicap of 5 you must lap the pits 5 times before commencing the race.
The table below is based on peoples performances in the last race. You can take any number of handicaps from the guide -1 upwards. For instance I must take 4 or more handicap loops. For the results table you will be rewarded according to your position and your handicap. so taking a higher handicap can be an advantage if you do ok and a curse if you fluff it
If you were not at the last race then use the guide to position yourself against like players.
We should have a grandstand finish.
Enjoy.

Right then. One track described as "tough" by Mad taken in both directions and with 6 handiloops. 7th in handicap race, 5th in standard race. The track was harder clockwise I'd say. I reckon I could've done better on handicap if I hadn't hit so many walls (completely my fault), while the 5th was pretty exceptional for me and is something I'd seldom get near in a real season. I'm not bothered about the finishing positions though; for me the more exciting of the two races was the first, no question. Sod the "fairness" of drivers finishing behind their less-skilled peers I say. _________________

Nice track work Mad. The fact that all racers finished the second race speaks to how player friendly it was and still gave the good players something to concentrate on.
Links aren't working Dan.
6 HLs on race 1 and finished 3rd. Started in the mid teens and worked my way up. Felt like going through the motions and wasn't as intense as race 2.
Race 2 was infinitely more exciting to me (not just because I crashed about 20 times and kept bouncing from 14th to 11th) as I was driving against those who were at my level the whole way around. It was my own fault for crashing loads and prolly would have ended up in 7th without it. There was more pressure on me to climb the ladder because I knew everyone who was infront of me would be tough to get past since they were at least my skill level, if not better.
After everyone finished race number 2 with time to spare, the case for handicaps is looking a little weaker to me. Perhaps tailoring the tracks to the 'less-skilled peers' is the way to go? Please shower me with "you weren't here for season XYZ, you don't know what you're talking about" etc... again though chaps _________________ Steam ID: munkhi

first race.. what an amazing race.
Close racing all the way round and wheel to wheel action with plenty of overtaking. The best bit though was the closing laps where it was all to play for and the top racers had just milliseconds between them... apart from bonobo who didnt do a handicap and stevieM who fought his way through to win by a few seconds. Great exciting racing.
Race 2: after a busy start it settled down and I just had the feeling of slowing going backwards. finished a lap and a half behind the winner and on a vacant track. |
