Yes, we're now entering the time of year where gamers of the "Jack of all trades, master of none" variety like myself end up very skint. Tonight I downloaded WipEout HD from Playstation Store despite never really having tried the series and it's excellent, especially for £12. I've got MotorStorm Pacific Rift on preorder and will have to decide whether to get Midnight Club LA on PS3 or 360. There are other games I'm watching with interest (Fable II, Gears of War 2), but my plan is to let Jonny buy them for his 360 first and see if they're any good. Oh yeah, LittleBigPlanet might be a laugh when the mates are over...
Anyone else going to be left out of pocket over the coming months by their gaming habits? _________________

one of my old school friends is working on COD 5 and he says its all finished ready to go
"whats it like? well, its pretty good, WW2 mainly focussing on the Pacific reagions. Graphics are great on the next gen version! Co-op multiplayer is very cool!
If you have seen the vids online theres nothing more to say, its CoD style, Kiefer sutherland does the voice of one ingame character (although not many cause he was p*ssed when he did the recording so we couldnt use a lot of the slurred ones lol)" _________________

made by same ppl who did cod3?
cod3 to my memory is like there was a cod3???
if the maps are anythinglike cod4 maps tho, im not going anywhere near it, cod4 maps are to small in size and also too small in "height/levels" of buildings, most mpas have 2 levels, which is just poor _________________

It`s made by different dev`s, they have a job to get it as good as 4, but the previews and magazines say they`re up to scratch with the game, so here`s hoping.......... _________________ Never underestimate the power of stupidity. |

You may have noticed I haven't been on TM much this week. I played a bit of the Orange Box on 360 earlier in the week and handed a friend some cash to get me Fable II from the local Sainsburys where he works and gets discount. It was out of stock for a couple of nights so I was handed my copy this morning, I mean yesterday morning (is that the time?). Meanwhile Evolution Studios took me by suprise and released MotorStorm Pacific Rift a week earlier than I'd read it was due out. Two games in one day, not a good idea if you want to get anything done. Fortunately I didn't plan on achieving much.
Verdicts on recent purchases:
WipEout HD (PS3 only): cheap, pretty, searingly quick when using the top two ship classes and very addictive.
Midnight Club LA (bought on 360, also on PS3 etc.): by no means perfect, but a damn sight better than ProStreet and Juiced HIN. Needs more cars, soundtrack is awful and handling's twitchy, but fast-paced and good fun.
Fable II (360 only): Strange. Intriguing though, I've not played much of it yet but quite like it and will say more when I know what to say.
MotorStorm Pacific Rift (PS3 only): As you might expect it's like the original, but better. More tracks, more ca...vehicles, more varied environments. Quite tough though so takes patience. Brilliant most of the time.
I realise console gamers here are few and far between but I'd recommend these to anyone who does have the expensive hardware for playing them. _________________

FarCry 2 - great fun, but gets a bit repetitive after a while
Fallout 3 - one of the best games i've ever played, if not the best. simply incredibly good.
dunno if im gonna get Red Alert 3 or Dead Space...Mirrors Edge is coming out soon and that looks sick. _________________

red alert 3 is overhyped and quite bad compared to the old westwood games, i'd probably say its the worst release of the EA generation of CnC games _________________

just downloaded Professor Layton and the Curious Village for my nintendo DS today, its a story based puzzle game, vaguely like Monkey Island, the puzzles are quite varied, it starts off easy but the puzzles get harder and harder as you progress, sometimes (most times) the answer is not straightforward where you have to think about what you are doing.
youtube clip explains it a bit better http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=m0k7vsy4j_w
its only just been released in the UK, its being advertised on TV regularly but its been out for 9 months in the USA apparently
its quite addictive but saying that i've only had it a day _________________

I must admit the products of Nintendo really don't do it for me. I wasn't impressed by a friend's Wii when I had a go at Super Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Kart Wii, and when it comes to the DS there's only one game I can think of that might be worth a quick play. A lot of peeps here would find it familiar, it's been mentioned before in News and Information... _________________
