There'a a video of one just as nutty in Vietnam on YouTube. Clarkson went over there and saw the huge amount of mopeds on the roads and the lack of signalling or attention paid to traffic lights, but said that the traffic was flowing brilliantly. _________________

The interesting thing is that there seems to be no road rage as there is zero expectation of courtesy. You just drive along and dodge obstacles as they arise. Whereas in the UK you'll get honked for not driving over a pelican crossing while the green man is still flashing. I think we could all learn something from these people.
I did see a documentary a few years back where Indians (Hindus, I guess) were driving on a hazardous mountain pass at night but few of them bothered to turn on their lights, simply because they believed that if their time was up, then it was out of their hands. It looks like they extend this theory into the daylight hours too. |
