And since we've swtiched to talking about tracks,
I know quite a few people never liked my tracks
but that didn't stop me from making them.
As long as it's something everybody can at least
complete a lap on and have fun doing it
is all that matters to me. Cool

Like I've said before, in a standard 3-lap race I never respawn If I were to fly off the course. Because I consider it as race over. I would'nt be happy if I finished a race even if I badly crashed.

Maybe its just a habit of pressing the delete key rather than the enter key i dunno.

Is it only Mid and Mad that decide what tracks get added? I thought it would be better to have somesort of voting system for general peeps to decide

Anyone can get involved with track selection if they only overcome the fear of putting a bit of work in. This means downloading and thoroughly testing all the works-in-progress that are posted in Forever Tracks, when you could be with your mates on the server having fun. Being a fellow trackbuilder will load up your comments with mo respect. There are vacancies for Moderator in this position.

on the side: recent track submissions will get the treatment on my days off starting Monday Smile

several people help in the moderation of tracks and have in teh past but the difficulties of checking a track thoroughly and access to load the tracks on limit the decision making process. It is not as easy as it looks either..... and we all make mistakes.

i think the problem with your tracks steve is, they're too hard.

But what do you mean by 'Hard'?

Subtle difference, but hard to complete, or hard to find the perfect line to get the fastest time... or something else?

Im trying to achieve the second in my tracks... and amazingly, the one track that i've made that i would consider 'hard to complete' is Abstract. Thats the only one of my tracks on either server, and I would consider it to be by far my worst track. Confused

hard to complete, remembers that uncionvential loop on TMN on one of your tracks >_> very annoying. okay having the correct line helps...but alot of the time on the TMN track i found moyself falling on lap 2 or 3. cant remember its name.

Got thrown out almost every race last night, really annoyed me. Lowered the resolution to 800x600 and it still did it, i dont know whether it was me or it was just busy but hopefully it was just for the one night.

Bingo!

I was thinking why i prefer their tracks when i was in their server a few days ago, and i reckon its due to having 5 laps. To get the optimum time for the tracks be to around 2 minutes to 2:30, the tracks have to be smaller... so that makes it more technical, and i prefer technical tracks to long fast tracks.

I see what you mean. The tracks are shorter, but have more laps, which means learning the tracks is easier due to more laps. 2 different things; long tracks/less laps, short tracks/more laps. But the RS tracks are more technical and there is ALOT of drifting involved (which is why you and Bboy) go there alot), but for some people who havn't 'perfected' the drifting technique the tracks are alot harder.

I personally prefer more open spaced, longer tracks. Not as repetitive and usually alot faster in terms of long straights/sweeping bends.

But we all have our different faves, I'm guessing the style of tracks you build would suit RS more than madlaps.

i like it the most because i don't know the tracks and there is 5 laps to catch peeps up. i love the improvisation of it all Razz
and also... I LOVE TO DRIFT Smile
but at the end of the day, i'll always come crawling back to mad laps hehe
