After the disaster that was track contest 1 lets try again. Smile

The link at the bottom is the start of a new track. It has checkpoints, start/finish and two boosts. Without moving any pieces and by using them all you must create the most interesting track you can.

All the usual track building guides apply.

The tracks when we get them will be judged publicaly after the GP at the end of the week.

Can you email you tracks to me using the email admin link at the top of the page. This way we don't get link troubles and you keep your track secret until the judging

Enjoy

For some reason when I downloaded it, it put a .htm extension at the end. You might have to go to the challenges directory and promptly delete it. To do this you will have to turn on visible extensions to do this. I think the default on XP is off.

I've been working on a couple of tracks for this, it's just taking me a while is all (I managed to make one track with lap times of over 2 mins - I figured that was a touch long Razz)

I made a track 2 days ago, and laps time was 1.50 ish. You put the blue pieces to far away mad. Cant be technical because it will take to long, so that basically counts me out Rolling Eyes

Haha ... I thought it was me being overindulgent with my 1:20 effort. I have a feeling that everyone's track is going to have a particular feature as it's the only way I can see it going. Good challenge, though. Putting the uz into puzzle.

steve don't give in Smile

You will surely recognise that the pieces were not exactly randomly placed Smile. The whole point of the competition is to see how we all approach the problem and to push us all out of our comfort zone.

There are obvious answers and not so obvious.

The shortest track so far is about 40 seconds.....
It was surprising to me, just how tricky this little challenge can be.

Is there a stipulation that the CPs must be passed vi the arrows or is it car blanche, so to speak?

The direction of the checkpoint has been specifically designed.... so feel totally free to ignore it. Twisted Evil

Trackmania is all about bending the rules and I would hate to change that.

RESULTS:

OK the results as judged by most people with a common consensus.......

WINNER:

8.5/10 Toccata - CRJ 127

8/10 HAT - DaMadman

7.5/10 Typical - MMMBat The new edited version is better

7/10 ThemsdaRules - Bunsen Nice track and intro, couple of bits where lots of people got lost Sad especially the drop left to the checkpoint.

6/10 Woozels - RFR Tred Nice track but with some nasty bits that ruined the flow//rythm

5.5/10 Trackcontest - Steve Very well put together track but really needs simplifying to make it racable. most people fell off especially on the jump towards the loop near the end.

5.5/10 Heffelump - RFR Tred Too Long and too much

5/10 Fluffy - RFR Tred Too Long

thanxs all.

Congrats CJ. Wink

And my track should win, (if it was judged on the names) Very Happy

You have to brake early to land on the inflatable, or take the corner before the jump perfectly and jump over the inflatable and land on the black roof piece, then fall down onto the boosts. And the intro was rushed, i'll change it a bit.
