EA are about to release a free download MP game in the FPS genre supported by front-end ads and 'micro payments' (for personalising your grunt) called Battlefield Heroes, based on the Battlefield series of games.
It will run on graphically-challenged rigs and has a cartoony aesthetic.
All of which i thought may be of interest to our community

From the site

By the sounds of it it's going to work like any other free online game
0 payment gives only game play + a few items
PAY = lots of items

I would pay real money to see some of the donkeys retire. Probably some daft Korean has paid 100's to keep Pele in his team. _________________
