|
I'm trialling a teamspeak server open for trackmania gaming
Channels can be created for nations and united where required.
give me your thoughts and ideas.
Connection details
Server 87.127.196.182:9606
pm me for the password or any teamspeak regular on the server.
Enjoy and pass me your feedback... not your FEEDBACK SQUEEL, your feedback comments
currently no password required though some advice from teamspeak experts wouldnt go amiss. Feel free to point people to this post for information.
Thanks

put a pass on it, some disgruntled pleb will join and make himself Server Admin (dont ask me how but it can be done) then introduce us to a world of problems.
Of course you want MadLap regs to join, so publish the pword in the Member's section of the Forum. Oops! _________________

Also, without a pass, people can spam it. Which wont be fixed in RC2, because their developing RC3, and no longer fix any bugs in RC2. |

I have a microphone but no Ventrilo and no Teamspeak
Other 'problem': I just have one computer with internet connection, which is in the living room. It's a bit weird if my parents are just there watching tv and I'm shouting stuff in a microphone like 'Ah there's Virus'.
I haven't used my microphone in a long time, and I only want to use it when I'm home alone.
Hmm I really should get my own computer. |

If I go onto teamspeak it's the RFR teamspeak, but normally when I'm racing on mad laps/rounds I'm on the vent server Pretty much always someone else on there too... |

come on guys.. go shopping and get a headset with a mic they cost about £4. ensure the mic is ON THE BOOM and not in the ear piece and you'll be fine. |

Took your advice and bought a £4 mic and headset, mic on the boom and all that. Only trouble is, there is no blooming volume control and it bleeding deafens me evertime I use it! _________________

Is it possible to set the button to talk as a gamepad button? I'd like to assign it to R1, I mean button 8 according to the driver on my PS2 pad converter. _________________

Probably, never tried it myself. Just go to where you set the button, and press whichever button you want and see if it works by doing a local test. |

I've tried changing it in the settings thing or whatever that you mention in your tutorial Steve, but it doesn't register the button as a keyboard key. As far as I know it's not possible to assign gamepad buttons to actual keyboard keys in Windows. _________________

most gamepads come with controller mapping software so that you can map a gamepad key to a kb key.
I don't use this myself, I use mic activation and keep my game volumes low.
but apparently it works. |
