What language is it in?
The rounds server could have loads of new features like server rank, and stuff. |

And i said that more out of curiosity, rather than if its a language i know, as i only know the basics of visual basic...
And the voting limit on tracks would be good. e.g. you get 1 or 2 votes when you join, then you have to win races to get more votes.
Off topis: Also mid, on the new tracks you put on by bosch, can you sort of reconsider putting them on Or ask him to slightly change them. Boosting into sharp corners is hardly something that a track on the server should have, if that makes sense. |

Sorry, I was just a bit amazed at the depth it goes into. Playing on the server you can find out the top 15 records, but with this system you can see the record of every single player! You can even see what is being played right now and who is there, meaning you don't have to launch TM to find out.
There is a discrepancy between the rank on the server and the rank on this application, though. I think that is bacause the former takes into account only tracks currently on the cycle, whereas the latter takes the whole history into account, including deleted tracks. I am 17th on the server and 10th on the application, for example. This means of ranking isn't so good for new players, although those who have stopped playing won't benefit from the points awarded by new tracks.
I don't know if it's usable on laps as well as rounds. |

Though our TMOS stats thingy is not always online. Our server-guy sais when he has it on, he's more exposed to virusses, so he tries to keep it offline as much as possible - dunno how much of this is true

no our records system is very basic and not at all comprehensive.
The beauty of me developing it though was that i didnt need to install apache, php, mysql and aseco and all the other nightmares that go with it.
My system also allows the admins to remotely manage parts of the server are not as easily available using the other tools.
This said, I now run apache, mysql, php...... hmmmmmm
As to the virus issue I'm not sure why running the stats program should open him up unless he's having to open lots more access to get it to run.
or the program is itself a bit naughty. |

do the points mean - the points system that goes to world ladder? if so then people with good ranks will find it harder to get points? |

Really nice
Top 12 all time xD (have I played that much?)
Anyway

is not true. I don't even have 50K points on my account, so it's not the points you get after winning a race for the ladder.
Apparantly I have 3 records instead of 1 on Laps xD
EDIT: top 10 on Rounds
What do awards mean by the way? Behind laps it says either 0 or 1 but behind rounds it goes up to as high as 49 (Bunsen) |

It's general greatness, Medi.
I think awards is just medals, although an author record seems to be worth as much as a bronze, i.e. 1 point. |

points are awarded for beating authors times etc and for records I believe... it's a bit of a black art but should help keep everybody happy
I'm also toying with the idea of switching to aseco... any ideas?? we can customise it to give us the same functionality we have now but will be more like other servers with rankings etc.
The current controller was written for...
A. the challenge
B. I didnt want to install PHP, My SQL, apache, aseco etc
I now have all these things installed anyway so we might as well switch. |

Can't be the recs, Bboy and oh noes would be a bit higher
And I think I'd also be a bit higher than 35 |
