I've put my track-building on hold until TM-Forever comes out, basically because anything I make for TMN might not work on TMF and it will get only a few weeks' play.
But am I right in this assumption? Will TMN/U trax play on TMNF/UF? It would be kind of tragic if it were true when you think of all the great trax that have been made and would need to be rebuilt (but probably wouldn't). Or maybe a conversion tool will come out. I am getting ahead of myself. |

The good thing is that we will probably be able to play the tracks we made for the TMU stadium in MadLaps GBR Nations |

I bet the tracks will carry over, like they did with TMU. At least the Stadium tracks should. You just can't go the other way, none of the Stadium tracks we made for TMU can be played on TMN |

Yep, I think you'll be able to use United tracks on Nations Forever. Incidentally, how many people are actually going to download TMNF? Seeing as I've got TMU I'm just going to update that I think, although I'd quite like to see what NF looks like on the menus etc.
I edited my post on the Nations Forever discussion, but it probably didn't get highlighted as a new post. If anybody happens to care what random stuff I thought of, check it out. _________________

Trackmania never -
Im confussed...is the TMF going to have a nations section and a united section?? TMNF and TMUF
Does that mean that in the nations version, they will keep the gameplay of the stadium from nations and not united?? |

From what I can tell after reading the entire TM-forum thread and any new posts, there are going to be updates for both games.
Nations: The United engine is being transplanted into Nations, along with the new United blocks such as dirt sections, those big concrete squares and some kind of weird system whereby TMN players can join stadium-only servers on TMU. Seeing as the playing field between TMN and TMU will have to be level, you can kiss the current Nations gameplay, handling etc. goodbye.
United: United gets a few changes like not needing to do a disk check every 5 days or so and a whole host of fixes for the bugs that have been discovered (the only one I've seen is the problem where sector times don't appear in laps mode). TMU players can join servers on TMN.
Other stuff: Stunt mode on solo (I was never any good at it on TMO so I've not even raised an eyebrow at that news), some kind of new online mode called Cup mode (sounds pretty interesting actually; I expect it'll be like having a championship in one session) and loads more stuff besides; check it out on the TM-forum thread.
There are a lot of people in the wider community complaining about the lack of new environments. It probably makes no difference to the hardcore Stadium addicts we've got here but there are two that Nadeo were working on for TMF. They either realised that they wouldn't be ready in time or decided that they were too much of the same thing. Either way, some more enviros are due eventually by the sound of it; possibly these, perhaps others.
And finally, don't knock Forever before you try it. _________________

But if the CD is needed to launch TMU the first time after the update... i'm done
Anyway, my PC is more or less diying, the graphic card and the PCU are weaker every day, i think, i'll need a new one in the following months or i'll use my Laptop, but that's not easy to play TM with a laptop keyboard... i don't like it so much.

I agree
There is not so much difference between both gameplay, TMU and TMN are really close (concerning the Stadium gameplay i mean) |

If they're transplanting the Nation engine with the United one, does that mean that they're going to be causing the minimum specs to jump significantly? Cos I'm running nations on minimum specs, and don't come close to matching the minimum specs for United... |

Sure it is
If you have only nations, you'll have un update to do (for free)
If you have United, you'll also have an update to do (for free)
If you don't have United and you want it, you'll have to buy it, United is the only thing that can be baught (buy in the past is 'baught' i'm right ?) |
