Hi all,
Just and idea but I was thinking that on Saturday (24/10), instead of having the usual solo cup night at 8, how's about a 25 lap race, just to get the juices flowing for the impending GP season??
Anyone up for it?

Sounds good...Merc Tenz will be there!
Might have to be on old tracks though as I believe the stock we have of new tracks to use in the season are about 4-5 short of what we require. If anyone wants to produce some then feel free |

Several of us had such an exercise on Race350 three weeks ago, five laps was enough at that time though that could be extended.
To keep it fun I would again suggest a one-lap outrun in formation climaxing in a rolling full-speed start for lap two.
During the 'race', I found it profitable to practice all of the tactics one needs during the real thing = consistency, overtaking, maintaining a lead, crash management, gamesmanship (come on, we all have a mocking beep occasionally), fast laps etc etc.
Race350 is an excellent track suited to this purpose imo. Lap time is approx 4:35 with most of the features we can expect in a GP circuit. _________________

Drivers who can make it should come to the Points Server.

Only signed-up drivers please.
The lights go green at 8PM UK time, that's 9PM for the rest of Europe.
Best you turn up early to have a good look at the track _________________

Myself and Deanio can make it though I would not be keen on much more than 5 laps on Race 350.
Also as this is a practice for the GP season I would assume that the respawns will be turned off. |

good points made... hmmm....
I think respawns will be left ON in the hope that drivers can learn the error of their ways and still profit from the rest of the event.
Next, I'll set it for six laps: one for the outrun and five racing. This will deliver approximately a full GP night's duration. _________________

I cannot see the point in a practice GP with respawns on.
Drivers need to practice racing for a long period of time with out the use of respawn. knowing the respawn has been left on does not encourage people to drive cautiously which is needed in a 25 lap GP. |
