This will not affect the format of the forthcoming GP season but it will be interesting to know the overall opinion of the players.

Voted yes, but not too bothered as long as the changes don't ruin the fun.

Maybe interesting to see who votes yes and who votes no Wink

If all the so called elites vote no and the rest votes yes, maybe something needs changes after all ^^

I didn't vote btw

i voted "No" and I don't consider myself an "elite" since I can't make it into the top Ten on the a2b-track on the challenge server =PPPP
i don't like a2b's anyway-.-

Presuming we are voting on weather there should be a handicap loop. I have voted NO as myself and deanio found it degrading and distracting to are game knowing we had been placed in the noob category (no handicap loops)…..as we both consider ourselves as good as most of the players who had to do three loops e.g. evil, thug belial…..

i thought Deanio should've been in the middle tier but if i was mad or mid or whoever sorted out the tiers would have put him in the sosteve group (sorry little buddy) you haven't been playing that long (ok you DO drive better than the noobs) your only 8 and you have never done 25 laps so really you ARE a noob to this kind of racing. anyway sosteve ain't a noob either so it wasn't REALLY the noob group

i was a bit miffed as to why Good Homer wasn't in the middle tier though surely he is more the faster than steve/not far off mid category

i've not voted as i'm not doing the GP season but maybe you should only let people vote who have done at least one full season already, just an idea

Thanks for you thoughts but this thread is not about "who is put in which group"...

oooooooooh sorry it does highlight the fact that doing the handiloops/group placement upsets people even if its presumed its in their favour and the difficulties in organising the gp's this way.

OK, so the groups weren't that accurate, but if you realised that without the handicap loop you were going to fail to finish 8 out of 10 races how would you answer then.....

Lots of people keep ignoring the fact that 50% of the racers will fail to finish each race because they are not fast enough when compared to the top racers. That to me is totally demoralising and unacceptable.

Could you increase the time for finishing after the first finisher?

Then the gp`s go on for an extra X amount of minutes which turns it into a all night event, certain folks have to work after the GP`s, so if the times were extended a person your all grateful to for organising can`t finish the gp`s anyway.

Making people start later also does this though.

no.... Times used to be calculated on the length of time taken to validate a track which meant we had to validate a track for the length of a race in time or laps.. one long lap or 25 regular ones. In forever, that has changed and validation does not appear to effect the finish time outs. I believe it's possibly even calculated from the time taken by the winner to finish......

A possible solution to the problem with the slower people not finishing on time with no handicap would be to set it up as a time-limited race rather than a laps-limited race?

I'm not sure how popular this would be but it's just an idea I had. I don't know the server options exactly but is there a way to set the lap limit at something silly like 100 laps but have the time limit set at 15-20 minutes? That way everyone is running the full length of the race (whatever the time-limit is) and the end-result is determined by the number of checkpoints passed when the time runs out?

(edit: this is probably in the wrong topic, sorry)
