no easy and cheap stuff that I know of..... unless you get a broadband phone account and redirect your landline phone to your broadband phone......
This costs money for the transfers and possibly for the service... about 1.50 a month if your unlucky. Then answer on a software phone like xlite and hit record.
bit much really.
Anyone in particular calling you????
I'm always getting market research calls for windows... always the same drivel and never market research.
others include;
prerecorded.. This is a public service annoucement... you may be entitled to compensation etc etc etc it even leaves the full speal on your answer phone.
The real pain is people who dont really want to talk to you, the ones who are actually talking to someone else and are surprised that you answered...
I get annoyed because my phone is often forwarded to my mobile and I end up answering them in the middle of important meetings and it costs me money |

today it was a recorded message urging me to claim compensation, as i was in a bad mood from being woken i thought i'd give them an earful, after a load of spiel the message kept saying "so press 5 now, go on press 5, its 5 to claim compensation free....." so pressed 5 and got through to a woman (i'll not call her a lady) who surprisingly enough sounded English, i asked the company who she worked for "consumer compensation service" then half way through explaining i had a block on my phone she hung up, no apology or owt. |

Have u checked ur phone to see if u can record phone calls on that?
I have a pretty dated Sony Ericsson K750i but even still it has the option to record phone convos...but it only shows when the phone has been answered.
I also have bluetooth on my laptop (if u have a desktop u can buy a usb bluetooth thing) so if I have recorded a convo, I can then transfer the recording from phone to laptop easily. |

I have caller ID and even though I tell them I am on the telephone preference service they'll call back the next day. You can use some of these tips to make them think twice about phoning you. T-Mobile and British Gas never call me anymore after this.
When you see an 0800 or 0845 or out of area number on your phone appear say one of the following when you pick up the phone.
1.) Good affanoon South Seas China takeway what you wanna order.
2.) Aberdeen Crematorium, you bring em we'll grill em.
3.) Yo Chico is that you, I better be getting to knows about my cocaine or you is one dead mofo.
4.) No Mr McCoy isn't here, he was lost overboard in a terrible sailing accident *sob wildly* damn you for reminding me of his sweet sweet smile *sob uncontrollably and hang up*
5.) No I'm afraid he doesn't live here anymore, yes he moved, he's next door to the muffin man, yes the muffin man, yes on Drury Lane.
6.) Welcome to McCoy Manors switchboard system to better direct your call please select from the following options.
A. Dial one for billing enquiries
B. Dial two for information regarding your weapons orders.
C. Dial three for information regarding the product recall on our stinger missiles.
D. For all other enquiries please hang up and dial again.
At least one of those sickens call centre staff. _________________

You can complain to BT about it, If you ask the to take you off their calling list, they have no choice but to do it by law, you need the details off which list it is, who you are speaking too and the call centre, if they ring again, you can prosecute under an harrassment charge.

Try this link, they may help, after being on hold for a while
p.s, when put on automated systems, random presses of the star/hash key some times crashes phone systems and you call gets answered straight away, also, try not choosing an option (or one that isn`t there). _________________ Never underestimate the power of stupidity. |
