|
|
Ok so I just authenticated my account today yet nobody can see me car skins or avatar... I have the needed .loc file for the skin, I have the correct dimensions for the avatar, and everything is where it should be. However, I was talking to someone and they said I may need to forward my port or something like that...? Can anyone explain to me what I need to do please? I am on a wireless network, using my laptop, and I am pretty sure my dad has a password on his main computer where the router is...
Thanks for the help,

Check that whatever firewall your using isn't blocking anything from trackmania.
And this is debatable, but some say you have to have certain ports forwarded. These are 3450 to 3450, and 2350 to 2350 or 2351. Depends on what guide you read.
Do not mess around with any other ports if you dont know what your doing!!!!! You have been warned.
Also, there is a website somewhere that will let you select your router, then what application your using, and it wil guide you through opening the ports. |

debatable... it's not debatable its poppy cock.
The biggest problem may well be your firewall blocking certain activity. having said that tmn is a fickle prgram that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. currently noone sees my cars either... it just stopped working a month or so ago. nothing changed. the tmn server sucks. |

It might sound stupid, especially when you do such good skins, but make sure absolutely everything is in .dds format. LaValle didn't and that sorted the problems he was having. Other than that, there's not much else to check. It's worth giving the port forwarding a go if you can find the page for your router on that website Steve mentioned (just Google port forwarding) and checking that you've got P2P enabled (which it should be after authentification). _________________

Yeah everything is .dds and I even have the .loc files. I forwarded my ports too and still nothing. Whats really weird though is now people can see one of my cars, but none of the others... yet they all have the same files...? Also my avie still wont show up. _________________

I know virtually nothing about locators but I take it you have a seperate one for each skin? _________________

Locators just speed things up a bit. Their not essential and just another thing that could go wrong, and if your problem solving, might be an idea to maybe take them out to check its not the locators arent working.
Also, check the configuration on the launcher. It should work on all the defaults, but if you've changed anything, it might not work. |
