|
|
ok so now you can sample any sounds from your computer and use it as a horn
goto start - all programs - entertainment - sound recorder
under edit - audio poperties adjust the playback and recording settings so that your using the correct input.
record your sample by hitting record at the correct moment.
use the edit section to clip your sample if required.
If the sample distorts it was too loud, adjust the playback/record volumes and resample it.
when you have a correct sample goto file - properties and convert now.
with the PCM format select a mono sample rate. either 16 or 8 bit. the higher the Khz the better the quality and the bigger the file size. ideally you want a file less than 200kb or 200000bytes
listen to the sample again... it won't sound as good.
save it
name the file horn.wav
paste the file into your cars zip file
enjoy |

does it work if you put it in the my documents/trackmania/skins/horns as horn.wav and then choosing it out of the general horns list (its 18.2kb) it says wav audio file but pcm also (tried putting it in my vehicle zip file but it didn't work)
it does work for me but no-one can hear it on TM but maybe it has to upload |

[quote="evil_homer"] put it in the my documents/trackmania/skins/horns as horn.wav and then choosing it out of the general horns list.
Thats the way to do it in forever
i use audacity(freeware)the trick is to turn up the output to the point of distortion and then you get the sound right ingame _________________

Yea audacity is best!
When you have finished adjusting the volume in Audacity you need to do File>Export instead of File>Save though or it saves it as some perculiar file instead of .wav!
And then put it in Trackmania>Skins>Horns (unless you only want it on a specific car in which case do it Mad's way.
Also I use iTunes to adjust the length of clips. What else do people use? |
