| I downloaded the demo last weekend, once I got the feel and controller set up the way I like, touring sedan on serious mode was very fun racing! I couldn't try out the multiplayer tho, I've read all kinds of stuff that the servers were no longer running, that they are temporarily not running blah blah blah... anybody know what the real story is? Also, with the full version can I run my own server? I read that there is no dedicated server app... So far one thing I find very lacking... there really needs to be a minigame within, there are times when a fist fight or two would be appropriate after the race is over! |

servers have stopped running permanantly for PS3 but i think PC/360 is staying online until 2012.
the person who creates the ranked/unranked/private session is the host (with private the host chooses track, laps, damage, catch-up etc) and as for the fist fight you need to try the demolition derby

| Ok so.... you're creating a room per se on their servers? Like the old Project Torque? But I can never host my own server like I used to with Trackmania? Sorry for all the questions but I appreciate the info. |

Servers are all p2p on pc, Host chooses options, ranked mode has ability to kick.
Most online servers are filled with idiots who want to ram or race the wrong way; not race properly. damage off sucks, driving aids on- sucks.
Is really best racing with friends on a private server with friends. i once stumbled on a server where people did race properly all races. Was a good laugh.

| Online servers filled with idiots, the ability to kick (and control the environment in general), is something I'm vaguely familiar with Its why I started running a TM server some 5 years ago??? More??? Servalot Online Racing... is where many of the Mad Laps founders had fun and drove fast. It was one of the few servers with multilap racing too which was different from the crowd. Anyways... I've really enjoyed the single player demo touring sedan racing and am interested in exactly what can be done with respect to running my own server. (Also if any of you old school guys are interested... my daughter is 10 now, she's been through my UT bootcamp and I still can fire up a server at will for some tdm, ctf whatever.... ) |

What bastards!
They should be made to keep the servers open for at least ten years or so after a game comes out.
I just brought Dirt 1 on sale at steam to find the servers are closed for that also, yet no mention of it on steam anywhere.
