Far Cry 2.....WTF

I bought the game this morning, installed it...all is well and good so far. i start to launch it but it asks for a serial code, which i have because i actually bought the game :O
i type the code in and...wait...whats going on....it won't activate...invalid key??
i actually got quite frustrated with myself and entered the serial in about 50-60 times.
I got fed up and typed into google "Far Cry 2 serial not working"....

when i got my Battlefield 2142 it was the deluxe version so had the Northern Strike booster pack.
the Battlefield 2142 activation code worked but i've still never got the booster pack on it working
i don't even think EA know how to do it (noobs)

that storymode is nice, tho long distances between missions is annoying.
thinkimfinding the boats fastest way of getting around as less cars shooting me downon way to where imheading

found out the serials work now, removed the crack and discovered that WOW! the online is way better than i expected (although my internet is totally messed up atm so i can't play it for more than 2 minutes lol)
