Optimus Maximus. They are cardboard cutouts! OK, maybe not. But whoever has a pair of quavers instead of P, a smiley instead of H and a picture of Shakespeare for a space could never have made the jump from drooling and thumbsucking to filling out a lottery ticket.

Optimus Tactus. Older viewers will recognise a startling resemblance to the Sinclair ZX81.

Unfortunately, I can trump both of them. My lowly Microsoft wireless keyboard has a button above the number pad that launches the Windows Calculator, and I actually use it every day. Plus there is probably enough organic matter between the keys to sustain a burly man for several days. Lottery Schottery.

In the EPOS trade we've been using programmable keyboards for years..... only we stick a paper overlay over the top for the functions. It's wayyyy cheaper but still rediculasly expensive.
